Brief History

The Association for Peace and Human Rights, "APDH", is a Non-Profit organization born out of a human rights school club initiated in 1994 by young people from Lycée Don Bosco Junior and senior high school in Ngozi. It is in a formally structured Association with a clearly defined vision, mission and objectives. Approved in 1998 by Ministerial Order No. 530/689 on  August 13, 1998, APDH has its head office in Ngozi and has sections all around the country in the provinces of Ngozi, Kirundo, Muyinga (in the north of the country), Gitega (center of the country) and Bujumbura (the country's economic capital). In total, the Organization has approximately 126 members and 14 staff members.
